The event, organised in collaboration with Sotheby’s, forms part of the Association’s cultural programme and aims to help support the activities of its forthcoming edition.

 

The eighth edition brought together artists of recognised national and international standing from different generations, each engaging with the territory and its local community. Through works and projects conceived in direct relation to specific places, Hypermaremma has further strengthened the role of the Maremma as a cultural and artistic hub in continuous growth and evolution.

 

Today, Hypermaremma has consolidated both its institutional profile and its distinctive position as an open-air museum: a widespread network of artworks, places and relationships that extends across the Maremma landscape and continues to grow over time. Artistic research, the production of new works and the creation of a shared cultural heritage now define its identity and shape its future direction.

 

The forthcoming ninth edition will mark an important step in this journey, with the aim of developing even more ambitious contemporary art projects and further strengthening Hypermaremma’s structure, consolidating its role as a forward-looking cultural institution dedicated to artistic production and to enhancing the cultural value of the territory.

 

Once again this year, we have therefore chosen to organise a fundraising initiative that can contribute, at least in part, to supporting the development and production of future projects.

 

For this occasion, the prestigious auction house Sotheby’s is generously making its international standing and the expertise of its specialists available in support of Hypermaremma, its objectives and the values that guide its work.

 

The auction will feature works of recognised artistic value, conceived and created by prominent Italian and international contemporary artists, carefully selected by a qualified committee. The auction will take place on Saturday, 12 September, at Circolo La Macchia in Capalbio, and attendance will be by invitation only.
