Francesco Arena

On Saturday, June 28, Hypermaremma presents La dodicesima altalena, a new site-specific work by Francesco Arena.

Twelve swings arranged in a circle form a suspended sculpture on the horizon, set on a hill that overlooks Lake Burano, within the extraordinary landscape of Terre di Sacra. Both playful and conceptual, the work is meant to be experienced, activated through the body and the mind, becoming a device for imagination immersed in the Maremma countryside.

The connection between art and the human being, a recurring theme in Arena’s work, finds new expression here, in perfect harmony with the spirit of Hypermaremma.
